Laurie Anne Land: October 2023

We just got back from Greece 🇬🇷 and it was such an incredible trip!!! I cannot wait to paint all the inspiration I gathered and hope to return again soon!! This email is filled with my go-to travel staples but also a few things that I got for this trip that I loved!!

Pssssttt, I painted 20 (!) paintings recently and am making a bunch of them available as prints soon!! I am SO excited about these and can't wait to share them with you!! 😁 Stay tuned!!

What I'm Loving

  • We only travel with carry on luggage and we’ve had these roller bags for years and LOVE them. Very impressed w the zipper/seam quality bc we STUFF these bags. We recently added these under the seat bags and it’s made a MASSIVE difference in how much we can bring and still stay in carry ons! We also love their toiletry bags !
  • I am a sucker for a travel watercolor set and have many lol. I took a risk with a set I've never tied before and it was a FAIL. They were very hard to use (flipping between pages) and I didn't love the colors either. I wish I had taken a set I already had! I like this Koi set and this Winsor Newton set! I also like to take a waterbrush !
  • We took these before, during and after all of our flights and managed to stay healthy!
  • Shoe update: I did love my new sneakers but I was also happy I brought my trusty slip on sneakers as well!
  • Ok, this purse is a big splurge but I LOVED it for travel as it was always in front of me and I wasn't worried ab getting pick pocketed AND it made every outfit look super stylish!!
  • Quince is my new favorite brand. Everything is SUPER affordable and high quality!! I wore these linen shorts (white, khaki and black) everyday and loved this oversized linen shirt that doubled as bathing suit cover up (wish I had bought more than 1 color!). I also got these sweaters for cooler nights and loved them (ps they shrink if you dry them)! I also got this simple  necklace and these  sunglasses that I wore everyday!
  • Loved this Z-Supply jumpsuit for a flow-y option! I got it in both colors! and these tanks were so cute!
  • We use this cool device to use our bluetooth headphones with the airplane entertainment system!
  • Travel visor - I love that it rolls up and takes up minimal space!
  • This fold up backpack gets so small and a great travel addition if we want to go on a hike or something! We have the green one!
  • The most comfy eye masks !
  • I used these little containers to bring all of my skincare and haircare products on a smaller scale. I have the original set but the new flex set looks pretty sweet!
  • We slept in 5 different beds on this trip and I gotta tell you, it felt so good coming home to our bed!! If you are in the market for a new mattress thats not too soft and not too hard, check out this mattress paired with this topper … it's perfect. I also love this pillow .
  • We never travel without our portable white noise machine . I cannot sleep in silence lol.
  • We got to learn photography from the incredibly talented Lucy Laucht !! Taylor has been a fan of Lucy's for years and was so happy to learn from her!
  • Tom taught us how to carve marble and it was a lot harder than I was expecting haha! I made an abstract portrait of Hazel and a little jewelry bowl and Taylor made a multi faced portrait that is making an excellent bookend on our shelves! Check out Tom's beautiful work! We are going to order a bowl for our dining table!

We went to Greece to attend a retreat with Lucy Laucht and Tom vonKaenel (both linked above!) at Mèlisses on Andros Island. Allegra knows how to host a dreamy retreat! Highly recommend!

Greece Recap!

We flew in and out of Athens and went to Andros, Milos and Paros. All 3 islands were so lovely! Check out my Greece 1 and 2 highlights on Instagram to see a bit of our trip!
